The new painting series, “Tri Suze Sv. Lovre” (“Three Tears of St. Lawrence”), is a contemplative exploration of the life and martyrdom of St. Lawrence and its profound reflection on humanity. St. Lawrence, known for his dedication to serving the poor and his tragic fate as a martyr, embodies the enduring human struggle for justice, compassion, and spiritual integrity. His metaphorical tears represent the collective suffering and hope of humanity, urging us to reflect on our own lives and the society we cultivate. The tears are shed for humanity’s ongoing quest for love, peace, compassion, survival in harmony with nature, our planet, and universe.
In aligning the series with the celestial event of the Perseid Meteor Shower, often referred to as the Tears of St. Lawrence, I connect these cosmic phenomena with my visual syntax and concept. The burning matter of meteors, visible as light or “falling stars,” symbolize the desire for continuous practice of love, peace, compassion, and conscious interconnectedness with all life forms.
Quantum physics offers a profound framework to explore the interconnectedness and underlying energy that permeates all existence. Nature, as depicted in this series, encompasses the cosmos, the biochemical processes within our bodies, and the intricate web of subatomic particles governed by principles such as resonance, vibration, superposition, and quantum entanglement. These concepts illustrate the fundamental interconnectedness of all things, where each particle and wave is in constant interaction and influence. Resonance and vibration symbolize the frequencies that connect us to each other and the universe, while superposition and entanglement reflect the complex, intertwined realities that shape our existence. By incorporating these elements, the series delves into the essence of being, highlighting the profound unity between survival of our species and all living beings, within the quantum fabric of existence.
